Senator Barack Obama
I have received a few comments about my earlier post on Senator Obama. I was excited to hear that he may run in 2008 for the Presidential election but also commented that he is a conservative democrat. I apparently stuck my foot in my mouth because he is no such thing. However, I believe the he is more conservative then some of his democratic counterparts. And I believe he is more "to the center" then anyone else and believe that he may be a good choice to run for the democratic ticket.

yay barack!!! everybody leave emily alone!
I like Barack and I consider him to be a conservative Democrat!! That's why I think he is a good pick b/c he is a delicate balance and a smart compromise.
I like Sen. Obama as well, however you all are mis-characterizing him. We have lived under the reign of King George for so long we have forgotten what it is like to have a politician who listens.
Sen. Obama is ranked more liberal (through his voting record) than Hillary Clinton. He is, in no way, a conservative. The difference is that Barack Obama makes us 'feel good'. The way he speaks makes us feel as if our concerns are his and that he is a middle-of-the-road centrist. Not so! The biggest plus behind Sen. Obama, however, is that he partners with conservatives - reaching across the aisle inside and outside the Senate chamber to accomplish what is generally good for America.
Sen. Obama is a great guy and certainly has incredible potential. He may even be the next President - but don't call him a 'conservative'.
i like barack and im glad that you arent afraid to show it too. and who cares if you dont use the correct words...i mean its not like you´re running for office. and even if you were, its not like you have to be smart to be president these days. p.s. this doesnt mean that you arent smart. cause you ARE. the end.
Wow. as you can see this is not a political blog and i don't know my stuff very well but its good to hear everyones opinion on something i may not understand greatly but think is very important! (ps steph you know me too well)
Emily is right, he is a listener. When he was the President of the Harvard Law Review people called him "the great listener". America wants change. He is a centerist...he have just forgotten what center is.
Obama is center. What is sad, under the reign of Bush, we have just forgotten what center is. When Sen. Obama was the president of the Harvard Law Review, the first black one I might add, he was coined, "The Great Listener".
how did I do that three times? I am so bad at this. I thought I never posted it and I lost it...shows how much I know.
Im glad we have Peter to set everyone straight.
