Brian McLaren also wrote The Secret Message of Jesus which I haven't read but have heard good things. I am halfway into this book and I am really enjoying it. The two main questions he ask are: What are the world's top crises, and what do the life and message of Jesus say to those global crises?"Today, for the the first time, I see what Jesus meant by the kingdom of God. I see that it's about changing this world, not just escaping it and retreating into our churches. If Jesus' message of the kingdom of God is true, then everything must change. Everything must change."
If you are not a believer in Christ but care about our world globally then its worth checking out.
