Resonate Church

We have been praying for our friends in Seattle. Their church launched its first Sunday service this past weekend. God heard the prayers of his children (2 Chronicles 7:14) and for their first official service 236 people came which is amazing. Scott spoke about "New Beginnings" which is so appropriate! Below are some scriptures he used (he sent these out in an e-mail) I have walked with the Lord for many years and he continues to teach me "new" things. Right now I am learning a lot about His will for my life and what following Christ truly looks like. I've really been enjoying reading Rob Bell's new book Sex God, it has alot of NEW things I've never thought about! Check out these scriptures, check out the book!

* Genesis 1:1—God’s idea for a brand new world
* Exodus 20—God gave some new commands that would become guardrails for how we would relate to Him and to others
* Lamentations 3—His mercies are new every morning
* The birth of Jesus—A new way of dealing with the sin that created distance between us and God and us and other people.
* Jesus’ life—A new way of living
* Jesus’ death & resurrection—A new hope
* Matthew 28:18-20—New marching orders
* That gave birth to a new community called the church!
* 2 Cor. 5:17—Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old is gone and the new has come!
* Revelation 21:1-5—God gave John a picture of Heaven. He pulled back the curtain on humanity so that he could get a glimpse of Eternity!
