Doing whatever it takes to save a child

The U.S. Fund for UNICEF was founded in 1947 to support the work of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) by raising funds for its programs and increasing awareness of the challenges facing the world's children. The oldest of 37 national committees for UNICEF worldwide, we are part of a global effort to save, protect and improve children's lives.

*There are so many great organizations out there that I would love to work for one day. This one is based out of NYC. Advocating for social justice is so appealing to me- through my school practicum I was able to spend time today at a WIC clinic. We have so many services in the US for those struggling with poverty not all nations are as blessed.

1. I don't like dogs...or really any animals
2. I'm not remotely ready to have kids.
3. I love tattoos, I only have a small one though.

4. I don't think many things are funny. movies/tv especially.But I laugh a lot... Christmas this year with my cousin Molly!

5. I'm going to do a triathlon this year!
6. I have moved up a pants size.
7. I have two more semesters of college.

eight little known facts about me.

1. I'm about to be an aunt. my brother-in-law/sister-in-law are about to have a baby boy. Blake Wesley Johnson due September 16. I am WAY excited. He is dearly loved already.
2. I changed my middle name to Worsham (my maiden name) after I got married but before that it was Elizabeth and I will name my first daughter that. I want to call her Liz or Lizzy.
3. I went to Europe twice in one summer. London. My brother and mom were over there for a month. I went with my husband (he wasn't at the time) and then came back. My mom realizes that she doesn't have a lot of time with me before I go to college so she flys me from New Orleans (I was there with my friend Susan), to London for 5 days, then to meet Nate and his family in Florida. It was my craziest summer yet.
4. I was pulled over twice in the matter of 30 seconds. For running through a red light and going the wrong was on a one way. Two different cops.
5. I have gone through the Citizen Police Academy. its dorky I know but my husband loves me and came to my graduation and supported me.
6. I have ran 2 full 26.2 mile marathons and 3 1/2 but haven't ran more than 4 miles since I got married.
7. I lived in an apartment for 6 months without my parents when I was 16. My older brother lived with me and they were right next door but it was a very cool 6 months.
8. I met my husband when I was 14. We are high school sweet hearts.
